Ever have a craving for barbecue ribs, but don’t want all the sugar? Make this bbq rib recipe that is easy to make. Cooking in the slow cooker and finishing by running these under the broiler makes a delicious meal that you can feel good about!

- 1 rack of ribs (I used baby back ribs)
- sugar-free BBQ rub (recipe here)
- sugar-free BBQ sauce (recipe here)
- 1 onion cut into chunks
- 1 cup of water
Instructions
- Pull the skin from the back of the ribs.
- Rinse and dry the ribs.
- Rub the ribs liberally with the BBQ rub. Wrap the ribs well in foil and place in the refrigerator overnight.
- Place the chunks of onion in the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Add a few tablespoons of the BBQ sauce to the water and pour in the bottom of the slow cooker (just to the top of the onions)
- Place ribs in the slow cooker vertically in a circle.
- Cover and cook on high for 4 hours.
- Remove the ribs from the slow cooker and place them on a broiling pan.
- Brush some of the BBQ sauce on the ribs and broil for around 5 minutes (watch closely to make sure they don’t burn)
- Cut ribs into individual pieces and serve with additional BBQ sauce that has been warmed up.
